How many fabrics are there to choose from?

In the Dickson fabric collection, there are over two hundred colours, including plains, designs and stripes and a similar number in our Para collection. Over four hundred to choose from in total.

Can I keep my awning out in the rain?

Awnings for the home are predominantly for sunshade, however the fabrics are water resistant and can be kept out is short spells of light showers but not rain. For commercial applications there are more weather resistant systems and fabrics available.

How is my awning operated?

Awnings can be operated using either a manual crank handle or with electric motors, using remote control or wall switches.

What motorisation options are available?

A motorised awning can be equipped with separate wind sensors, rain sensors or sun and wind sensors to automatically adjust to the conditions. In addition, heating and lighting options are available with some models.
We only use SOMFY motors to manufacture our awnings who are considered to be the industry leaders in electric automation and motoristaion.

Do I need planning permission for my awning?

An awning for your home is very unlikely to need planning permission. However, if your home is listed or in a conservation area, you may need permission. Your local planning office will be able to advise.

How long is the guarantee on my awning

All our awnings are guaranteed for five years (T & C apply)
